From Volume 3 – Whimsical Joy
A Selection of Limericks
Robert's limericks reveal his sharpest comic instincts – absurd, irreverent, and always perfectly timed.
Odd Bods & Peculiar Souls
Devizes
There was a young man of Devizes,
Whose feet were different sizes.
One shoe size seven,
The other eleven –
His feet won him many big prizes.
Mag
There was a tall lady named Mag,
Who was eight feet tall – she did brag.
Her husband so short –
Only four feet nought –
So she carries him round in her bag!
Henrietta
Henrietta, a lady, said, “When
I started my life I was a hen.
The day I was born
They fed me on corn –
Then they found I was human at ten.”
Bright Ideas & Mad Inventions
Hughes
A ‘budding’ inventor named Hughes
Invented a new style of shoes.
They were flat and quite round
To walk on rough ground –
And for standing long hours in big queues!
Price
The romantic inventor named Price
Has invented a ‘girl-cooling device’.
When she’s kissing a lot
And is getting too ‘hot’ –
She’s cooled down gently with ice!
Clease
This clever inventor named Clease
Has invented for priests ‘Super Knees’.
For long sessions praying
When fatigue has him swaying –
Both covered by a year’s guarantees!
A Touch of Mischief Adult Humour
Finney
A motor mechanic named Finney
Who works best when under a Mini.
I must make it clear –
Not a car, I fear –
But the skirt of a girl called Winnie.
Miss Pru
And back once again to Miss Pru
She said to her boyfriend named Hugh.
“It may seem absurd,
But give me a third” –
And they screwed in her bed, a third screw.
